Welcome to Arch-ReCon

Greetings and welcome to ARCH-RECON. As the name implies it deals with architecture and reconnaissance. More specifically, to learn. However, RECON is also made up of RE and CON. Re for Real Estate for those who practice in the field of Acquisition, Asset Management, and Disposition. CON for the Construction side of the industry: Running projects, managing risk and keeping the general contractor in line. This world is no longer a place where one can practice their profession in isolation. They must now know how their roles, decisions and duties will affect all other parties. I hope this blog helps people from all aspects of the built environment.

I decided begin this blog for a number of reasons.

  1. I'm currently studying for my Architectural Registration Exams and as a way of learning, I thought that I would write.
  2. To help to make the "unglamorous" side of architecture more interesting.
  3. To help real estate asset managers understand what they actually own, how it's put together, and how it can affect their cash flow & risk.
  4. Help to make architects and designers more proficient with the construction process after the drawings have been completed.
Please feel free to contact me to suggest topics, provide corrections, or complement me on a job well done.Cheers.
